Warid is now Jazz: Warid merged with Mobilink and now operates as Jazz. This page is kept for reference. See the latest Jazz packages.

What happened to the Warid TV app and radio service?

The Warid TV and radio service described above worked through a subscription and an IVR catalogue, a common way to deliver mobile entertainment before app based streaming became normal. Warid itself merged into Jazz in 2016, and services built around the Warid name and that older catalogue were discontinued. You should treat the subscription numbers, daily charges and channel list as a historical snapshot. They are not a way to start watching TV on your number today.

The channel list also shows how viewing habits have changed. News and music channels are still popular, but most people now open an app, choose a programme on demand, and pick up where they left off. Live radio survives inside many apps, yet it sits alongside podcasts, clips and catch up video. A dial in catalogue could not compete with that once smartphones and faster mobile data became widely available in Pakistan.

What you get today instead

Jazz’s streaming focus is now the Tamasha app, where viewers watch live TV, sports and other video through an internet connection. That means the real cost to plan for is data. A viewing session can use far more data than messaging, so it makes sense to buy a suitable bundle before a match or a long trip. If you want to check the bundles that fit regular streaming, the Jazz internet packages guide lists what Jazz currently sells.

On home WiFi, streaming will not touch your mobile bundle at all, so download or watch there when you can. On mobile data, lower video quality when you are just listening to commentary or watching on a small screen. The Jazz World app manages subscriptions and shows remaining data, which is helpful during a series or tournament when viewing can creep up day by day.

If you still use an old Warid SIM

An old Warid SIM works as a Jazz SIM, so you can load Jazz balance, buy a Jazz data bundle and use that data in current streaming apps. Nothing Warid branded needs to be installed.

Check your balance on *111# and your remaining usage on *117# before you start a long stream. For account problems, the Jazz helpline is 111. If your phone is old and struggles with modern apps, the limit may be the handset rather than the SIM. Testing the same SIM in another phone is a quick way to tell the difference before you spend money on a replacement.

Common questions

Can I subscribe to Warid TV by dialling the old number?
No. That service ended with the Warid era. Use current streaming apps over WiFi or a Jazz data bundle.

What replaced Warid TV for Jazz users?
Tamasha is Jazz’s current streaming app. You will need an internet connection, and mobile viewing will use your data allowance.

How much data should I keep for streaming?
It depends on quality and length. Start with a larger weekly or monthly bundle if you plan regular viewing, then check usage on *117# to see your real pattern.

For sports and live news, try to start watching a few minutes before the event begins. That gives you time to fix a login issue, lower the video quality if the network is busy, or switch to WiFi. It also stops you missing the start while your data bundle is being renewed in a rush.
